What Was Chakravyuha Battle Formation In Mahabharata

What Was Chakravyuha Battle Formation In Mahabharata: The world's biggest war was the Mahabharata in Kurukshetra, such a fierce war had happened only once in history. It's estimated that nuclear weapons were extensively utilised within the Kurukshetra war of Mahabharata.

It's believed that the battle befell at a region called Kurukshetra in an exceedingly area of 48×128 km, in this battle around 1.8 million soldiers participated and fought for each other's lives.

Chakravyuha was the foremost dangerous battle system of the Kurukshetra war. Chakravyuha comprises two words ‘Chakra’ and ‘Vyuha’. ’Chakra' means 'wheel' and 'Vyuha' means 'formation'. Chakravyuha was a rotating array kind of a wheel; it had been impossible to pierce the Chakravyuha or the Padmavyuha.

In Dwaparayuga, only seven people knew the way to pierce it. Apart from Lord Krishna, only Arjuna, Bhishma, Dronacharya, Karna, Ashwatthama, and Pradyumna could pierce the Vyuha. Abhimanyu only knew how to enter the Chakravyuha which he learned in his mother’s womb.

Chakravyuha Levels: There were seven layers within the Chakravyuha. The bravest soldiers were stationed within the innermost layer. These layers were made in such how that the soldiers of the inner layer were physically and mentally stronger than the soldiers of the outer layer. Infantry soldiers were stationed within the outermost layer.

Within the inner layer, there is accustomed be a military of elephants equipped with weapons. The composition of the Chakravyuha was that of a maze during which once the enemy got trapped, the cube became a circle.

In the Chakravyuha, the soldiers of each layer used to rotate every moment similar to the fork of a clock; due to this the person entering inside the array would stand inside and forget the way back exit route. Chakravyuha was considered to be the best military swamp of the time. This array was formed only to capsize Yudhishthira.

Chakravyuha was also called the death machine that spins to spread death because once the enemy entered inside this vyuha, he could never come out of it.

Like Earth, the Chakravyuha rotates on its axis, and every layer revolved around it. For this reason, the exit gate adapted a change all the time into a unique direction that confused the enemy; such a wonderful and unimaginable battle system was Chakravyuha. Even today's war systems cannot adopt such a complicated and strange battle system.

You will be surprised to know that in step with the music or the sound of the conch, the soldiers of Chakravyuha could change their position, no commander or soldier could change the position at his will or powerfulness; amazing unimaginable.

Just imagine how intelligent were people those who adopted deadly warfare techniques like Chakravyuha and that too thousand years ago.

Chakravyuha was like a storm that blew away everything in its path and destroyed everything like a feather and straw. Abhimanyu knew the way how to enter inside the Vyuha but didn't know the way to exit out.

As a result, the Kauravas had killed Abhimanyu by deceit. It's believed that the formation of Chakravyuha made the enemy army so psychologically and mentally debilitated that thousands of enemy soldiers lost their lives in a very second.

Other than Krishna, Arjuna, Bhishma, Dronacharya, Karna, Ashwatthama, and Pradyumna, nobody had the strategy to exit out of the Chakravyuha.

It is not a typical topic to constitute such a scientifically disciplined strategy even centuries ago. Within the war of Mahabharata, Chakravyuha was formed thrice, in one among which Abhimanyu died. Only by the grace of Krishna, Arjuna had killed Jayadratha by piercing the Chakravyuha.

Conclusion: We must always be proud that we belong to a great country and civilization, within which amazing demonstration of science and technology is seen centuries ago. Although today's battle systems are ignorant to the battle mechanisms like Chakravyuha.

Undoubtedly, Chakravyuha was neither a past nor a future warfare technique; nobody has seen it in the past and no one will ever see it again in the future.
